Golf Lesson PricesThanks for coming to the Lessons Page. I'm hoping you are here because you like what you have read elsewhere on the site and now want to find out how much it is going to cost you. Please allow me to explain a little about how I work. A big part of my Coaching Philosophy is that I try to give value first. Hence the free stuff of this site, and the fact that you are welcome to come along for your first lesson free of charge, to see if you like what I have to say. I wouldn't expect to spend money on something without trying it first, and I don't expect anyone else to.
Most other golf teachers will offer you 6 lessons for the price of 5, and take the money up front. I do it the other way round, I give the free lesson up front, and I don't take any money for a lesson until after I have delivered it (the only exception to this is for courses of group lessons). Taking money up front suggests a lack of confidence that people will come back unless they have to. As you can see from the Testimonials Page, people are very happy with what they learn in my lessons, and come back because they want to.
I'm by no means the cheapest out there. I charge what I believe is a very fair price for the value I give. You are better off having one lesson that actually makes you better, rather than six lessons that don't. I know what I teach works because I use exactly what I teach myself when I play. Many of my students are currently playing the best golf of their lives, which suggests that it works for other people too.

Most golf swing lessons will involve the use of the Explanar Swing Training System, because it the best tool I have found for helping a student make changes to their golf swing quickly and easily, and to help retain the feeling for the movement. I will often use a video camera and the CSwing analysis software as a tool to record a student's progress, and with the better player, to identify areas which may need attention.
After every lesson you will receive an email from me explaining and reminding you what we did in the lesson, and what I would like you to work on between now and the next lesson. This will allow you to build up a picture of your progress, and to look back to see what you were working on so your practice time is always productive. If you join the Game Improvement Strategy, this information will be uploaded to your own personal area of my website for your reference.

I'm happy to accept a challenge. If you have a particular target in mind in terms of handicap, or of improving a particular part of the game, I'm happy for both of us to commit to a programme to get you there. If you stick to the programme and you make it, I get a bonus. If you don't, I coach you for free until you do.
Lesson Options
I always try to give value first. If you have never been for a golf lesson with me before, you are welcome to come and have a short taster, to see if you like what I have to say. This will allow me to assess where you are at, and start to plan to get you to where you want to be. You can add this free 20 minutes to a longer lesson if you wish. (For example, a 30 minute lesson will be £10 if it's the first lesson.)
Group Golf Lessons. £10.00 per person
I regularly run group lessons. There are a maximum of 6 people in a class which runs for one hour. All balls and clubs can be provided if required. I try to split the classes by ability so you will be in a class with golfers of similar experience and aptitude. A list of upcoming Group lessons is available here. 30 Minute Golf Lesson. £30.00
A 30 minute golf lesson is ideal for a quick check up or as part of a regular scheduled process of improvement. This could be a swing lesson, a short game lesson or a putting lesson.
45 Minute Golf Lesson. £45.00
A 45 minute golf lesson is perfect for the better player who is looking to make changes to the swing as it gives time to identify issues which may be causing problems. It is also good for the first time we meet, as it gives me time to assess your game, and start to put together a strategy for your improvement. You could also use a 45 minute lesson to have a more in depth look at your short game or putting.
