RotarySwing.com Affiliation

I'm really happy to announce my affiliation with RotarySwing.com.  Rotary Swing was developed by Florida based golf coach Chuck Quinton.  I have been a member of the site for over 4 years and use much of the technical and biomechanical understanding in my own swing and in what I teach.  In my opinion this is the best golf instruction site on the internet, and I am happy to have this association.

For more information about how I found Rotary Swing, and why I , please have a look at this article.  If you have lessons with me already, then no doubt you will recognise a lot of the material on there, although new video's and articles appear almost every week.  There are over 150 video's, dealing with every aspect of the golf swing from basic fundamentals of setup, through to advanced shotmaking and maximising distance potential.

One of the main reasons for becoming an affiliate is to give my students more tools and points of reference.  The video's are excellent quality and clearly illustrate the main points I teach in my lessons.  I hope that they will speed up the learning process and help people reach their golfing goals more quickly andhelp them enjoy the game more.

So, Why Should You Come for a Golf Lesson.

If you are a complete beginner and want to start learning golf, please follow this link.  If you have been playing for a while, maybe had some golf lessons, and want to get better, please read on.

Golf is a simple game, but not an easy game.  If you are like the majority of golfers out there you are probably a bit frustrated.  You have probably had some golf lessons which helped for a while, but you still hit bad shots, usually at the time when you really don't want to.  You play some good golf sometimes but are inconsistent.  You don't really understand your golf swing, and when it goes wrong you have little or no idea why, or how to put it right.

You would really like to improve but are confused by the seemingly endless stream of golf tips hints and new techniques and advice that is available from TV, Internet, magazines, golf pro's and your playing partners.  You seem to be going round in circles.  Your long game gets better, but your putting goes off.  You are putting well but you keep duffing your chips.  You hit the difficult shots well, but then mess up the easy ones.  You know there has to be a better way of improving, but you don't really know where to start.

If this is you then I can help.  I have just launched my New Golf Improvement Strategy.  It is a fully structured Game Improvement Programme, starting with a complete analysis of your golf swing, golf fitness, putting, short game and the way you think about your golf. One of the first things we will do is a Movement Assessment, to find out whether there are any physical restrictions which are holding you back and preventing you reaching your potential.

Then together we set your priorities and goals and put a plan in place to achieve them.  This will comprise a 45 minute golf lesson once a month backed up with online feedback and practice planning. You will have a fitness programme to follow, including pre and post round stretching.  We will talk about the way you think about your game on and off the course, and plan the way you spend your practice time so you give proper attention to your putting and short game, rather than just whacking balls at the range.

You will get specific drills and performance tests to improve your performance under pressure and monitor your improvement.   We will regularly test and evaluate every area of your game from your Swing to your Fitness, your Short Game, Putting and your Inner Game.  You will know where you are, where you are going and the steps you will take to get there.

So, tell me where you are right now with your game and where you want to be.  You are welcome to come down to Collingtree Park in Northampton for a free intitial assessment. I will customise a Golf Improvement programme to help you become the golfer you want to be.  If you want more details about this unique package, please give me a call on 07976 401 545 or get in touch via the Contacts page.  Last Updated on Monday, 20 July 2009 11:35

Single Figure Golfer? Want to find out How Good you Can Be?

So you are a player.  You have worked hard, put in the practice, had some golf lessons have got down to 9.  So now what?

Getting to single figures is a big milestone in a golfer's career. Many people have this as a major goal. I see a lot of golfers who stay at 8 or 9 for most of their golfing lives. They like the 'kudos' of single figures, but either don't have the time or the motivation to get any lower, to really test themselves and to find out how good they can really be.

I think this is a shame. If you can break 80 on a regular basis you can play the game. There is no real reason why if a golfer can reach all the greens on a course in regulation, they shouldn't be able to play off scratch.

So, what's your goal? Do you want to challenge yourself? Do you want to find out how good you can be? Are you stuck on a handicap figure and can't seem to break that barrier to get any lower?

If this is the case, I can help. I love workng with single figure players and helping them maybe reach goals they didn't think they were capable of. It helps that I can play the game myself. It must be frustrating for many low handicappers that the person who is supposed to be helping them become scratch golfers, in many cases can't break 80 themselves. How does someone who doesn't know what it feels like to swing the club well, and to hit great golf shots, teach someone else to do it?  It is no coincidence that the best coaches, Butch Harmon, and Bob Torrance for example, have all been excellent players themselves.

So, if you want someone who can challenge you, to help you plan your journey from where you are now to scratch, and who has made that journey themselves, give me a call. You are welcome to come to Collingtree Park in Northampton for a free introductory lesson.  I admire and respect your ambition, and look forward to helping you achieve your goals.

Complete Beginner? You Have Come To the Right Place

First of all, Congratulations.  You've chosen to learn golf, the best game on earth.  You can play it for your whole life and you'll never get bored of it.  Every day on the golf course is different and it is so satisfying and exciting when you play well.  In many ways a total beginner coming to golf has a big advantage, as you have no bad habits to overcome.

Golf has a reputation as being a hard sport to begin.  It the past this was probably justified.  Fortunately one invention changed all that.  The Explanar Golf Training System is the best tool for learning and teaching golf that has ever been invented.  I can't imagine giving a golf lesson to a beginner without using it.  It takes all the fear and frustration out of learning to swing a golf club and what used to take six lessons to learn now takes one or two.  It's not unusual for a total novice to come for a golf lesson, and leave 30 minutes later having hit a number of shots over 100 yards in the air with a 7 iron.

So, if you are thinking about taking up the game of golf and having some lessons, I can promise you three things.

One: It is easier to learn than you think.  Two: We will have a lot of fun. Three: By the end of the first lesson you will be hooked.  In fact I'm so confident that we will get you hitting the ball by the end of the lesson, if you are not getting the ball in the air, you can come for another one Free of Charge.

To arrange a Free Introductory Golf Lesson at Collingtree Park in Northamptonshire, please give me a call on 07976 401 545 or get in touch via the Contacts page.  I look forward to hearing from you.
